My Support for Women's Rights
1. I support the Declaration on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women and I would support its ratification in the United States, one of the few countries in the world where it has not been ratified.
2. I support the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay law which makes companies compensate women fairly.
3. I volunteered in the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton and I have supported other female candidates for public office.
4. I will not insult the Girl Scouts or rape victims the way some Republicans have.
5. I will not try to make contraception illegal. I support reproductive rights for women. I may be the only pro-choice candidate in the race, but I support the right of those who want to be pro-life as long as they support the rights of those who want to be pro-choice. I believe that a person can only be pro-life if and only if they oppose all abortions all of the time without exceptions. I do not consider Mitt Romney and many other Republicans to be pro-life because they will not take this stand.

Promoting Urban Development
Many candidates have ideas for promoting urban development, but I have been actively involved in trying to help rebuild my community rather than just merely talking about it. I have worked with an organization which rehabs old houses for resale. We buy houses, fix them up, and put them back on the market again. With many houses, this can be done profitably. At this time, we have worked on several houses in our neighborhood, but we only have the resources to work on one at a time. As a congressman, I would like to start a program like this which could be involved in fixing up hundreds of old houses in our community and potentially employ hundreds of people involved in helping to fix them up. This would lead to more urban renewal, lower unemployment, and more people owning their own homes. I have worked with people who were involved with Habitat for Humanity, Trickle Up, and organizations with similar goals. With your support, we can make it happen.

Some good reasons not to vote for the Republicans
1. They often like to brag about how conservative they are. But remember, some of the worst presidents we ever had were conservatives. Bush 1, Bush 2, Nixon, Hoover, Harding, Taft, all failures.
2. They support another plan to reduce taxes for the wealthy and to increase our national deficit and another plan to steal money from the government in order to bribe the those voters.
3. They are anti-union, anti-working class, anti-minority, anti-women, anti-foreigner, and anti-anyone who disagrees with them on any issue. They are almost like a hate group.
4. Under President George W. Bush, they did everything possible to try to bankrupt this country and destroy the future of your children.
5. They have totally failed to help the anti-abortion movement achieve their goals.
6. They support the gun nuts and the reactionaries. They're so far right, they're so far wrong!
7. They really only care about serving the interests of rich people like Mitt Romney who exploit others. They will never care about people like you.
There's an easy way to end the gridlock in Congress - just elect all Democrats! And throw out the do-nothing Republicans in Congress! I welcome your support. http://davidsowardscongress.blogspot.com/

Only The Rich Can Save America
For all of you in the middle and working classes, you may already realize that many in the wealthy class are involved in a plan to bankrupt this country. Most of this plan involves their refusal to pay their fair share of taxes, which has caused the national debt to skyrocket. So many people seem to be willing to sell out the future of others for generations just so they can have lower taxes for the present.
The primary tool of this plan to ruin this country is the Republican Party. While the Democrats have had plans to help improve the economy, reduce unemployment, reduce the deficit, manage government spending, enact national health care reform, and introduce other reforms, the Republican agenda seems to be to destroy whatever the Democrats are trying to accomplish at the time. The Republicans have become better known for what they are against than what they support. Their legislative goals are anti-union, anti-working class, anti-immigrant, anti-foreigner, anti-minority, anti-women, anti-children, and anti-anyone else who would disagree with them on any issue. They are almost like a hate group.
There are many groups who do support the Republicans, including the rich, the gun nuts, the right-wing religious fanatics, reactionaries, and anyone else they can fool into supporting them. But Republicans really only care about serving the rich. They favor a government for the rich, by the rich, and of the rich. (Lincoln's words with a few changes.) The power of money to influence elections may prove that the Republicans don't really need to have many constituents except for the wealthy and a few others.
Even though many of the wealthy of this country are getting some of the best tax breaks they've ever gotten, they aren't necessarily investing in the future of this country. Much of their money goes overseas to the banks of China and Japan, investment in oil-producing countries, and investments in moving American jobs out of the country to be replaced by cheap, third world labor.
Now, I wouldn't say that all rich people are bad. Sure, there are many like Bill Gates, who do give to others. However, there are just too many ones like Bernard Madoff, who are obsessed with greed. It's not enough for people like him to have one or two million. No, they must have ten or fifty million or billions or however much they can take. Nobody ever becomes rich without exploiting others.
The rich don't have to be bad people. In fact, only the rich can save this country if they are forced. There are only 2 of them for every 98 of us, so we can force them to pay more than their fair share of taxes. After all, no one really needs any more than 4 or 5 million dollars, so we can tax the hell out of those who have more than that. Then we can use the extra revenue to help reduce the national debt, pay for health care, build better schools, repair our infrastructure, invest in social security, and help to build a better future for all. Vote for those who will enact this change and make the rich save America.

My Experience
I have had extensive experience in working with government organizations.
At Indiana University, I took several courses in history, government, economics, and journalism and received my B.A. in Political Science.
In our student government, I was an IUSA senator and represented over 1,000 dormitory residents in the student senate. I also served as RHA elections commissioner and supervised elections for over 10,000 dormitory residents.
I have been employed by Historic Fort Wayne, the Parks and Recreation Department, and served as a volunteer with the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
I have been a volunteer with several Democratic campaigns including those of Tom Henry, Hillary Clinton, and President Barack Obama.
I am a former employee of General Motors and a former member of the United Auto Workers. I am a strong supporter for the rights of the working and middle classes.
I am a prolific writer of political essays and political satire and several excerpts from my novels and other published writings can be read online.
I believe that my professional and educational experiences in government make me the best candidate to represent the Democratic Party as the nominee for Congress in the 3rd District of Indiana.
Thank you for your interest in my campaign and I welcome your support.
